Family Learning

We started some family Learning classes two years ago. We are looking for a small number of families to take part again this year. The idea is, the child and their parent study and learn new things together.

The details of the Numeracy course are below. A number of families are continuing to come to this for the third year and most of the students are starting year 10.To reflect this there will be a change of emphasis this year.

This course is free and light refreshments are provided.

Numeracy Support

2010-11

Many of the students have now reached year 10 and are now embarking on their GCSE maths course. The Family Learning course will reflect this change from year 9 to year 10.

The course will take place on a Tuesday from 6.30 to 8.00, with a "chill out" time of 20 mins at 7.15.

Families will study together following the year 10 Cowplain School, maths scheme of work. The course will provide extra time for the topics studied during the week and homework support when and if it is needed.

If you would like to join this group please use the contact us link on the left. Year 8 and 9 students are very welcome to join us but you must bring an adult each week.

There is no charge for this course. Light refreshments are provided free.

We are limited to 7 families so we can offer genuine help and support, this is ideal for C/D candidates.
